Network Launches 2007
On 1st and 2nd November 2007, the Second Expert Report was launched in the UK, US, China, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. In the UK and US there were scientific conferences on the two days, each sharing a similar format. Day 1 focused on historical background, the need for a new report and food and nutrition recommendations and Day 2 focused on obesity, physical activity and special recommendations. Each recommendation was presented by an expert panel member followed by a respondent presentation that focused on the context of the recommendation and future research directions.
A half-day conference on 1st November in Hong Kong for health professionals also took place. You can view or download conference information for all three launch conferences from the Resource Centre.
Press launches took place in China and in the Netherlands. In addition, a morning seminar took place on November 9th in Paris for health professionals and scientists, in partnership with the French Institute of Nutrition (I'Institut Français pour la Nutrition).
