Our Global Network is dedicated to funding research and health education programmes into the links between food, nutrition, physical activity, body fatness and cancer risk.
Independence of the process
The Independence of the SLR Centres and the Panel was assured by separating the collection of evidence from the business of assessing and judging it.
Second Expert Report process
A methodology task force was responsible for developing the methods which were used by the systematic literature review(SLR) teams. An advisory group provided further technical advice to the SLR teams and all protocols and reports were peer reviewed by external scientists. The evidence was then judged by the Expert Panel and Recommendations for Cancer Prevention were produced.

The Continuous Update Project
The same research methods were applied to the follow-up project to the Second Expert Report, the Continuous Update Project to ensure consistency. One systematic review literature review team (CUP team) prepares the protocols and produces the reviews which are peer reviewed by external scientists. The CUP Panel of experts judges the evidence and ensures the Recommendations for Cancer Prevention are based on the latest evidence. WCRF/AICR produce summaries of the reports prepared by the CUP team which include the Panel's judgements.
