Preventability estimates

Preventability estimates are required so that policy-makers can assess the impact of different approaches to reduce cancer risk. It is important to identify what proportion of cancer could be prevented through changes in diet, physical activity and weight.

Preventability estimates are available for four countries; the UK and US as representatives of high income countries, Brazil as a middle income country and China as a low income country.

The estimates published in the Policy Report have been updated with recent information on cancer incidence. Visit the WCRF International website to read about the updatedpreventability estimates.
